PAC Celebrates Buwan ng Wika 2018

Realizing the essence of our national language, the Philippine Advent College commemorated a month-long celebration of Buwan ng Wika 2018. The administrators, faculty and students convened together at Dona Felomina S. Macias Gymnasium August 7-29, 2018 to celebrate the affair. The theme was “Filipino: Wika ng Saliksik”.

The objective of the commemoration was to show importance to our national language and encourage all government agencies together with private sector to be a part of the program in order to raise civic consciousness of our very own language.

The highlight of the celebration was the search for Ginoong Ambassador and Binibining Ambassadress of the college. It was represented by seven ladies and seven gentlemen from the different courses such as: Education, Business, Nursing, HRM, Computer, Senior High and Junior High. The releases of the Php40, 000.00 allowance/grantees were in three batches according to the schedule of the Land Bank of the Philippines, Sindangan Branch on their availabilities of cash

It was also decided that the release of Php 40,000.00 was in the form of cash because check was not available. It would take one month for the check books to be available.

Land Bank of the Philippines, Sindangan Branch was dependent upon its main office for the availability of cash.

Philippine Advent College Administration requested for the services of the Philippines National Police (PNP) Personnel of LGU Sindangan and Private Security Agencies to secure the campus during the three batches of the releases.

The summary result of the releases for the three batches of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) were as follows:

  1. Number of the grantees 1,007.
  2. Total number of Grantees who claimed/ received the TES Allowance 95.
  3. Total number of Grantees who have not claimed/received 46.
  4. The total amount of grants actually received by the grantees 38,000,000.00.

Signing Ceremony on the MOA between CHED- UniFAST and private HEIs

on December 17, 2018, Philippine Advent College joined the signing ceremony on the Memorandum of Agreement  between CHED-UniFAST and Private HEIs  about the enrolled students as selected TES grandees at Bahay Alumni at UP DilimanCongratulations to more than a thousand Philippine Advent College college students who are TES grantees this academic year, 2018-2019.

PAC receives the check for the grantees of TES

Last March 22, 2019, assigned personnel personally received the check representing the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for the students/grantees of Philippine Advent College pursuant to Section 7 of RA 1093 from the CHED RO IX Regional Director, Dr. Emmylou Yanga.

So, qualified PAC students will receive 40k each as their allowance and full refund of their payment of their tuition and other fees.

The release of the payment was a full vindication of my person in a highly criticized decision of accepting First year college students without any payment. The PAC BOT upheld also the decision that incoming college students of the School Year 2019- 2020 will not pay anything at PAC, if granted by the TES.

It is our heartfelt gratitude, sincerest appreciation and wholehearted admiration to the selfless efforts of the PAC team headed by Ma’am Julie Ubas Bautista, the proactive Regional UNIFAST Coordinators, (Ma’am Heide, Ma’am Watchel and Ma’am Juni) the Unifast Secretariat for the job well done. The TES law is now working for the deserving Filipino students.
